Kickin' & Smokin' Red Pepper & Leek Loaf

Follow this step-by-step recipe for foolproof fried chicken - dip in buttermilk batter for a golden, seasoned crust and sweet, tender chicken.





Our Kickin' & Smokin is produced with Red Onions, Apples, Peppers, Chillies, Garlic & Spanish Smoked Paprika.


Here's what you'll need:

  • 450g self raising flour

  • 2 tsp salt

  • 40g butter

  • 1 red pepper

  • 1 leek

  • 4 tbsp Kickin' & Smokin'

  • 170g cheddar cheese

  • 1 garlic clove

  • 1 egg

  • 280ml milk

Method


  • Preheat oven to 220oC. Grease a 1kg loaf tin. Sift flour and salt into a bowl and run the butter in until the mixture resembles fine breadcrumbs.

  • Wash and chop your pepper & leek and chop finely. Crush garlic and grate cheese coarsely. Add pepper, leek, garlic and cheese to flour.

  • Beat egg and milk together, add gradually to dry ingredients and form a soft dough. Knead lightly and quickly on a floured table, then shape into an oblong.

  • Place in the loaf tine and bake in a hot oven for about 55 minutes.
